12 memorable moments: July Take Two

July, what a dream a way that was. The sun was shining, office melting from the heatwave of  the English summer. That lasted one week, I know ok but a girl gotta paint a pretty picture!

I know its took me a long time to catch up on these memorable moments but hey, I've just been having too much fun.

Now on this lovely July day the sun was actually not shining. It was the rain making a grand entrance with torrential rain on the one day my best friends and I decide to get active.

We travelled to Woburn's Go Ape & Safari park near Milton Keynes. Fashionably late after making our way through the unaccounted Safari (which you must visit first) to get to the Go Ape we were strapped up and ready to swing amongst the rainy trees. Of course, If you ever meet me and my friends it won't surprise you in our decision to continue with the course despite the many people fleeing the route drenched head to toe.

Optimistic and hysterical with laughter I then realised what I actually had to do. Swing, from trees, high up.

Erm, yeah, I'm scared of heights did I mention that?

Now this might seem a bit obvious to you well versed 'Go Aped' folk but I guess I just didn't realise that you go round by yourself up these BIG, TALL trees and have to JUMP and SWING off them with no one around and as little as a few buckles and belts and a small pep talk before you are set on your merry way. (Ok, so its pretty safe harness but you know..)

And hey, its actually quite a long course and quite tiring. Concentration is key and your muscles certainly get a work out stretching to and from swinging disks where you have to fit in your slippy, muddy trainers. ITS HARD.

I won't lie, we had quite the giggle and certainly the girls got some amusement out of my silence whilst mastering the two slatted tunnels that are suspended in the air. *Noone talk to me, master at work.* But hey, I mastered my fear of heights which was tested through Tarzan Swings, Zipwires and as I mentioned, suspended, slatted tunnels which ok, Im going to put it out there, questionably passed health and safety. (jokes)

I definitely would recommend giving this a go. We had so much fun and it was great to get out and do something different rather than stuffing our faces in the local pub or drinking ourselves to dizziness. We laughed so much and actually, well for me, achieved something that I never would have thought of doing before and thats what my New Years resolution is all about. For £30-32 (Plus Safari works out at £40) its not exactly cheap but its money well spent which you would probably end up dishing out on a taxi home anyway.

I wish we had got more pictures but with the rain, oh and being bloody suspended in air, it was kind of tricky to get some snaps. We also sadly missed the Safari as by the time we finished due to our delayed start it had closed. But I was so impressed that after tweeting them at home they refunded us the money we missed out on. Those little customer service tricks really do help and me and my friends have talked about returning just to go to the Safari.

Go Ape is available up and down the UK so if you would like to check one out near you, follow the link here http://goape.co.uk.

If heights aren't your thing then there are also plenty of other things to do such as the Safari I mentioned or Segway experiences.

A great memorable moment of 2014 conquering my fear of heights! Who else has mastered a fear this year? Why not try doing something different this weekend too!
