Recently however I have got so sick of my dry skin. Even my liquid foundation even forming a 'peeling' effect on my forehead, nose and quite strangely the side of my face by my ears. It is has resulted in me making the little effort I should have always made. In desperate measures, I pulled together all the countless cosmetics I have parted with my cash on recently and surprisingly have found the magic ingredients
Clinique Creme Cleansing
I got recommended this by a Clinique specialist in one of my hopeless attempts to start a regime (and helplessly failed). However, as of late I have seen the light with this beaut of a product. Rub the cream into your hands and apply to the whole face. Take a cotton ball and wipe away your make up then rinse off with warm water. Instantly my face feels softer after using it and it smells delicious too.
Tea Tree Witch Hazel Peel Off Mask
This is my ultimate bargain beauty buy. It works like a dream and costs a measly £0.99p. The pack has a generous amount of gel which you apply to your face and leave to dry for 10 minutes. Peel off and then wash excess off with a flannel and your face is silky smooth. My make up instantly goes on so much better and any dry problems area seems to be instantly fixed.
Oilaitum
This thick cream was recommended to me by a colleague who spotted the trick by none other than Jessie J. Layer this on thick at night and let it absorb into your skin. Considering I have such dry skin I found this made my skin quite greasy when I was using it daily. So recently, I have used fully just once a week and regularly just on targeted dry areas - T Zone, nose & side of my face just below my ears (weird I know). You will find this in Boots up in the specialist cream areas or in the baby department. The pumped large size (ml) pictured cost me £7.85. 9.19)
Clearasil Face Wash
For any greasy residue I feel is left on my face that I want to remove or for a fresh morning wake up I then apply this gel over my face. Rub in to create a lather and for an extra clean feeling I scrub my face with a flannel and wash off the residue. This is great first thing in the morning as it is really refreshing and light.
For every morning, daily use I apply Nivea all over my body. I stopped using it a while back as it seemed quite greasy but reducing the amount I put on my face helped and I now cannot live without it - a great staple moisturiser on a budget. The 'blue pot' (professional terms here) is a lot thicker and a great alternative to Oilatum for intense moisturising but is too thick for every day.
Dermologica Soothing Eye Make Up Remover
Again this was something I have had in my cupboard for a while as a gift from when I was suffering from my sensitive skin. I can't believe I ever stopped using it. The clear gel helps remove eye make up quickly and easily without scrubbing at your eye lids and picking at your eyelashes. Made specifically for sensitive skin and also stregthening eyelashes with numerous other fancy benefits it smoothly slides off your make up without the dry out side affects of make up wipes. Its not cheap at £21.50 for 118ml but using just a pea size amount you can get a lot of use out of it as well as feeling the benefits.
Over the past week I have found this combination has resulted in much smoother, brighter skin. My make up applies much easier and my skin feels much lighter and healthier. I think I can say this is proof that a beauty regime doesn't have to take that long and even better, doesn't break the bank.
